Littlehampton Area Guide
Set at the mouth of the River Arun, the town of Littlehampton is regarded as one of the best South Coast resorts to move to.
The town provides a number of excellent amenities, including a swimming pool, Mewsbrook and Harbour Parks, and both the East and West beaches. The waterfront also boasts the UK’s longest Beach Bench, and the striking ‘Look and Sea’ Centre with a maritime museum, a popular riverside café, and sensational views down-river to the sea, and westwards across the Arun over the Littlehampton Golf Course towards the sand dunes at Climping.
The area enjoys an abundance of pleasant walks along the River Arun, while local bus routes give easy access to Chichester, Arundel and Brighton, and Littlehampton also benefits from its own mainline railway station.
Together with a variety of shops in the pedestrianised High Street, the riverside Pier Road offers an increasing number of bars and restaurants, including The Fish Factory, The Arun View, and the famous Fred’s Fish and Chips, which enjoys the fabulous sunsets over the river.
The area is also well-served by excellent local schools, including Littlehampton Academy, River Beach Primary, White Meadow Primary, and St Catherine’s Catholic Primary.
