James Butt has been the Branch Manager of our Littlehampton office since 2019; successfully leading the office to new heights over the past 7 years, and is now a Company Director within the Estate Agents and Lettings business, continuing the family legacy as a fourth-generation member of the Graham Butt family.
As the grandson of founder Graham Butt and son of David Butt, James brings together strong heritage, modern leadership, and hands-on experience.
A former student of The Angmering School, James began his Estate Agency career at our Littlehampton branch in 2015. Keen to challenge himself and broaden his expertise, he moved to London to work in the fast-paced property market with Marsh & Parsons in Shoreditch. There, he developed the ability to perform in high-pressure environments and deliver results for a demanding client base. Skills he brought back to the family business two years later.
Since returning, James has held key positions across both our Rustington and Littlehampton branches, building a deep understanding of the local property market. Having lived and worked in the area for much of his life, he has established a wide and loyal client base, offering valuable insight into the needs of local buyers and sellers alike.
Alongside his professional achievements, James has experienced many significant personal milestones. He purchased his first home in 2021 in East Preston with his wife Lilly, giving him first-hand experience of the property journey he so often guides clients through. James and Lilly are now proud parents to their beautiful daughter and together they enjoy family life with their much-loved French Bulldog, Petal.
Outside of work, James is a passionate sportsman. He played youth football for Arundel before later representing Angmering and Rustington, and is a keen golfer at Ham Manor Golf Club. He remains active in the local community as a member of a gym in Rustington and, when he’s not helping clients move, enjoys spending quality time with Lilly, Peony, and Petal.
